AGING AND THE GOOD LIFE

Thursday, May 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Fee: $45 includes continental breakfast and lunch.

Aging and the good life: this is what we all want for ourselves and for those we love. Together, let's look at some of the ways that we can enjoy and share the gift of the 'good life'. With courage and gratitude let us explore the skills used and the 'gifts' received from traveling through the difficult days, daze. "Aging is a privilege not given to all." Aren't we blessed! Sister Marie's talks are laced with humor and wisdom. Come for some laughs and deeper understanding of our faith!

Facilitator: Sister Marie Micheletto, RSM, M.A., L.P.C., LMHP, is a Sister of Mercy of the Americas, a psychotherapist and an educational humorist. She does premarital, marital and individual counseling, provides mentoring and in-services to hospice staff, and is a national and international speaker, as well as facilitator of retreats.

TAI CHI HEALING RETREAT

Wednesday, May 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Fee: $45 includes continental breakfast and lunch.

The forces of movement and stillness, creation and destruction, are all aspects of the Divine Force that surrouonds us and is within us. Tai Chi has been practiced for thousands of years to connect with this Divine Force or Vital Energy through breath and movement. Connection brings balance, calmness, and healing to the mind and body.

During this retreat we will learn simple sets of movement that you can use on your own to connect, relax, strenghten and balance; breathing to calm and enhance energy; and self-healing massage using acupressure points.

Facilitator Rita Otis is a spiritual director, interplay leader and Tai Chi teacher who has led numerous retreats and workshops on observation and meditation. Rita's work and healing is based on the belief that we all have a body wisdom that wants to be made known.
